The River Run (Grand Canyon part 3)

After the helo dropped us off we proceeded to take a river excursion.

Of particular note is the far wall of the river. You see the line of vegetation about 14 feet above water line? That's where the water line was 5 years ago. Since the remaining depth is 8 feet deep that does not bode well indeed for anyone in the Southwest whose water supply depends on the Colorado River.



The views from the river were simply stunning. The cliffs tower 3 or 4 thousand feet above you.


The ride was fairly short and then it was time for lunch.

spectacular images from the epic journey - could the nomadic adventurers be persuaded to extend their roamings seduced by nature's grandeur?
